What is henan songshan longmen?

Henan Songshan Longmen is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Luoyang City, Henan Province, China. It is a collection of ancient caves and rock carvings dating back to the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-535 AD), Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), and Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD). The site is divided into two parts, namely Longmen Grottoes and Baiyunshan Grottoes.

Longmen Grottoes is the main attraction of Henan Songshan Longmen. It consists of more than 100,000 Buddha statues, scriptures, and other related objects carved onto the walls of the cliffs over a span of 400 years. The grottoes are divided into three sections: East Hill, West Hill, and Xiangshan Temple Grottoes. The Western Hill and Eastern Hill are the largest with the most statues.

Baiyunshan Grottoes is a smaller section that is located nearby. It is composed of 34 caves and over 1,000 Buddha statues, most of them date back to the Tang Dynasty.
